TrueBlood: Meet Talbot...

So for the past two seasons, Lafayette Reynolds has always been my favorite 'flamboyant' character in TrueBlood. However, I think I may have grown fond of a new character this time around for Season 3- meet Talbot. He's Russell Edgington's (vampire the King of Mississippi) lover of over 700 years, played by Greek actor- Theo Alexander. All I can say is he's fabulous *snaps fingers* and this is why:
Look at his demeanor as he welcomes Bill into the mansion after gracefully walking down the stairs...
Love his mannerism as he clings onto Bill taking him up to his guest room while explaining the horror story history of where he's about to stay...
Look at the door he picked for the guest room, "100% Sterling Silver from Morocco". As you know, vampires are not too fond of silver. What a deadly choice huh?
I read in the NY Post blog that this robe is Tom Ford. Say whaa? He's a fashionista too?! Love him even more!
Here's Talbot looking extremely young and vibrant in comparison to his aged lover, Russell.
During the beginning of dinner, Talbot serves his guests "Chilled Carbonated Blood" and claims that it's "cruelty free and willingly donated by a person who ate only tangerines for weeks". I guess that's justifies it?
Check out the dining room setting. I'm sure Talbot had something to do with this!
For your entree, "warm blood bisque infused with rose petals" ... FANCY!
For your dessert, "blood gelato with a mint garnish".
Just look at him! I love this new guy Talbot. His accent is great, he's snappy, edgy, extravagant, flamboyant, charming, romantic, dramatic... I also like Alan Ball's twist because he portrays Talbot as a vampire. In the novel, Talbot is actually human. Can't wait to see more of him this season along with his quirky old lover Russell... something's definitely stirring up! Do you dig this new character?

So everyone wants to be a vampire nowadays huh? Check out this funny clip from Comedy Central's Ugly Americans where Mark brings Tristen and Blayke (jee whiz, see the resemblance to Bella and Edward from Twilight? hilarz!) to the Vampire Processing Center where one can be turned into a vampire (once you are approved of course). Love how the show mocks Bella's obsession to being turned and pokes fun of the vampire elements from Twilight (animal blood vs human blood, vamps with no visible fangs). It's also hilarious how they mock Kirsten Stewart's acting too. I think I'm going to start tuning in to find out what happens next! Make sure to watch the show on Comedy Central every Wednesday nights at 10:30PM/9:30C!

Thanks to the homie Emeyesi for always helping me with material to blog about! Well.. the funny Twilight related ones... hehe ;)

Paris, Je T'aime and Vampires in Love

Finished watching Paris, Je'Taime last night and this flick totally blows New York, I Love You out the water. It's 18 short love stories from 18 renowned film directors in five minute parts that revolve around different locations in Paris, the city of love <3. All the stories are unique in its own way, all romantic, some funny, some weird, some sad and tragic. However, personally watching the movie made me feel extra mushy and made me miss Paris a whole lot. It's such a beautiful city rich in art and architecture with a romantic atmosphere like no other country I've ever been to. It's just simply breath taking. The movie is superb with a roster of amazing actors like Elijah Wood, Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nick Nolte, Willem Dafoe, and Gerard Depardieu. I was also excited to see the shorts from the Coen Bros. and Wes Craven who contributed to the film. Awesome movie, you MUST watch it.

Anyway, I had so many favorites (one being Natalie Portman's section, Francine) but this one struck me. It's a story about vampires who fell in love in Paris. Whoa! Anyway, this short stars Elijah Wood who discovers a mystic female vampire feeding on a man in the streets of Quartier De La Madeleine. She approaches him with the intent to satiate her thirst but looks at him rather with interest and glamors him and later walks away. In order to lure her back, Wood grabs a empty wine bottle and breaks it to cut his skin open to shed blood. The vamp senses the blood and looks back with lust in her eyes but does not give in to the temptation to feed and continues to walk away. The mortal is puzzled and bleeding profusely which causes him to become light headed and to accidentally tumble down the stairs. He kills himself during the fall and lays flat on the ground. A pool of blood pours out of the back of his head spreading out in a heart-shaped form (how ironic, don't you think?). His beloved female vamp senses he's in danger and approaches his lifeless body on the ground. She pierces her wrist with her fangs and offers her blood to speedy his recovery. His lips get a taste of her blood in a few minutes he realizes that he himself has transformed into a creature of the night. Hunger hits him as she holds him in an embrace and he suddenly bites her neck for a taste of more blood. She reacts surprisingly yet in a sadistic manner and aims for his neck to also get a taste in return. As the two feed on each other the screen shot comes to a close in a heart shaped close-up of the two vampires in love. AWW, how cute! Loved the dark imagery especially the use of the color red signifying blood and the love that bonded the two together. The director Vincenzo Natali did a wonderful job!

Snoop As a TrueBlood Vampizzle!!

Everyday is the same thang, I creep in. It’s like TrueBlood, I sink my teeth in. -Snoop "Gangsta Luv"
So Snoop wants to be in TrueBlood huh? I dig this idea. Remember in 2001, he did that movie Bones? Now don't get me wrong- I didn't say I dig that movie but his character was pretty decent. He can totally pull off a TrueBlood character. Maybe as Tara and Lafayette's newly turned rappin' vampire cousin? LOL! Draculizzle Fo'shizzle Dizzle... Glad to know someone in the hiphop world is in tune with one of my favorite shows. Alan Ball, you need to holler at Snooooooooop (a la Drop It Like It's Hot)!

Two Finger Rings and Gold Teeth, and Ain't Afraid to Hold Heat...

Vampire Desire 3-finger Ring
"Two Finger Rings and Gold Teeth, and Ain't Afraid to Hold Heat..." - Raekwon, Ice Cream
Check out this super dope 3-finger vampire ring from NY based jewelry designer, VeraMeat. It's so amazing! I need to get rid of my 2-finger name ring and get this upgrade immediately! VeraMeat has some super cool and eclectic jewelry available too if you're not into the whole vampire theme. Her accessories are available in copper, silver and gold. Super well-made and individually crafted. Plus, I knew this artist's pieces looked familiar because I've seen Khloe Kardashian (my favorite whoadie) wearing her jewelry on her reality tv show, Khloe and Kourtney Take Miami. Amazing stuff!

Here are some of her vamp inspired pieces and some of my faves:
Vampire Love 2-finger Ring (for those that can handle only 2 fingers and not 3.. LOL)

Dead or Alive Necklace (It's not only a necklace but converts to a wearable vampire grill! SICK!)

Would you rock it? Cause I SOOO WOULD!

Shouts to my homegirl and jewelry designer extraordinaire Justine Sherry of dinosaursofnewyork for sending me this link! She's always on the look out for super dope accessories! Check out her blog, I also got two awesome pieces from her this week that I'll be posting soon so be on the look out! ;)

Megan Fox is a Different Kind of Vampire

Megan Fox is definitely one sexy b*tch... but her latest movie, Jennifer's Body sucks! Ok I know in your mind you're probably like "what did you expect?" and I agree because the movie trailer didn't exactly sell the movie to me but I had to try it because 1) it's supposedly a vampire flick and 2) because Diablo Cody wrote the script. If you guys aren't aware of who Diablo Cody is- she's the screen writer for Juno (one of my most favorite movie of all time). Yes I was highly disappointed and was only able to endure it because Cody's humor is just fun-tazz fo-shiz! I also giggled a bit and the extra gore helped. It was also a plus to see J.K. Simmons (played Juno's Dad) and Charlyne Yi (played Jodi the Asian Chick in Knocked Up & Paper Heart who I kind of look like? or looks like me? LOL) Now I won't give you a synopsis because I only recommend it if you're a M.Fox lover. If you want to know why I think Megan Fox is a different kind of vampire- well, then watch it to see why! (but don't tell me I didn't warn you!) :-X

OMG! Christoper Moore is the GREATEST!!

Lookie lookie! Yesterday, I found one of my new favorite writers, Christopher Moore aka @TheAuthorGuy via twitter. I gave him the link to my Vampires Can Be Funny post for his two books Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck: A Love Story and he read it! He totally DM'd me and confirmed that there will be a continuing third book titled, Bite Me: A Love Story (which I knew but didn't want to post yet because there's no artwork for the cover) from the San Francisco Vampire Series. This book will be about Chet, the huge shaved cat. Guess what? He's a vampire cat now and he's menacing the streets of San Francisco! Whoa, vampire cat? That should be interesting! My favorite goth, Abby Normal also returns. Pre-order your copy NOW.

I highly suggest that you follow @TheAuthorGuy on twitter. If you've read all his books or if you're part of his cult following, check out his super funny blog!

Special thanks to my cuzzo, @larue823 for suggesting CM books!

Note to Chris Moore: Thanks for making amazingly hilarious books. I got started with the San Francisco Vampire Series and am currently reading Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal with A Dirty Job next on my book list. Your books are like CRACK and I can not stop reading them. Thanks for DM'ing me. This gesture really put a smile on my face and I can see that you value your readers. Promise that I will be going through all the books that you have written and will be reading them all. Can't wait until April, I MUST pre-order! Thanks for making my day! :)

Ooh La La! Queen Sophie Ann Leclerq is Très Chic!

I present you the beautiful actress Evan Rachel Wood who plays Sophie Ann Leclerq, the Queen of Louisiana in the HBO series True Blood. She first made her appearance in the episode "Frenzy" and has caused quite a stir. Sophie Ann's first scene is of her sucking Sookie's cousin Hadley's femoral artery. What an introduction huh? She plays a bi-curious 1,100 year old french vampire with impeccable class and style! Her character is totally fab and Hollywood! Kind of reminds me of Marilyn Monroe if she were a red-head. What do you think? She's totally outspoken and I was dying of laughter when she told Vampire Bill that he and Eric Northman have too much tension and that they should just f*ck each other and she can watch. So hilarz! Gaudy jewelry, fancy mansion, heavy security, human "pets".. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Queen!

Umm.. is that an issue of Vogue in your hand? Anna Wintour would be proud! ;)

So rumor has it that Evan Rachel Wood is dating Alexander Skarsgard? OMG I'm so jealous!

The Vampire Diaries? Love Sucks?

WHO: The Vampire Diaries
WHAT: A new vampire based television show based on a Young Adult book trilogy by author L.J. Smith. It's a story about a teenage girl named Elena, who is torn between two vampire brothers named Damon and Stefan. One vampire is good and the other one is evil.

WHEN: premieres Thursday, September 10th (a week from today)
WHERE: the CW Network (check your local listings)
THOUGHTS?: Seems like everyone is really jumping on the vampire band wagon because of the success of Twilight. Funny how the actor Paul Wesley's character, Stefan looks a hell of a lot similar to my boy Edward Cullen (played by the super charming and handsome Robert Pattinson). Check out wtforks.com to see what I'm talking about! I'm kind of mixed. It's on national tv so they can only cover so much to make it so interesting. Twilight is a movie and TrueBlood is an hour long and is on HBO (no holds barred). When it comes to vampire related national tv series, I only like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel. :-/ But for the love of vamps, I'll watch it and give it a whirl. Hope you don't upset me CW Network!

The Eric and Aimee Sookie Bond

Last week, I was devastated when my boo boo Godric made his last appearance in the TrueBlood series. I really wanted to blog about him again but because of my special bond to Eric, I'm going to have to convert back to Team Eric because I love me some Viking! So it seems that Eric managed to trick Sookie to suck his blood. What does this exactly mean? Well- they will now be connected and Eric will know where Sookie is at all times as well as know her inner emotions. Of course Boring Bill wasn't too happy about this and sucker punched Eric. Poor Bill.. but at the end of the day the Viking got what he wanted. Despite being called an "a-hole" or a "monster" there was still a smile on Eric Northman's face. Here's a message to Eric, if Sookie wasn't willing to suck your blood. I'll do it!! "EYE VANT TO SUK YER BLUD!" (Dracula voice) haha

So the highlight of this week's episode was Sookie's dream sequence. Now ladies- how hot and steamy was her dream!? When I saw Alexander Skarsgard's naked body, I just wanted to press pause and stare at all his body's perfections. I really wish that I was Anna Paquin at that moment in the bed with satin sheets and Alexander touching my curves. But let's keep it PG-13 and i'll keep my thoughts to myself.. haha

I feel that this "bond" between Eric and Sookie was introduced too early for the tv series in comparison to the book (atleast from what I remember). Eric and Sookie look great together and you could see that there's chemistry cooking between the two. It's actually more exciting to watch than Bill and Sookie. Anyway, one thing got me puzzled. In the dream sequence, Eric talks about Sookie's qualities and why she'd make a great vampire. Then on episode 8, when talking about a maker's bond with his/her convert, the Viking said something like- "perhaps one day you'll know". So, is there a possibility of Sookie turning into a vampire in the future?!? Will she be converted? Sookie wishing for a conversion was definitely not in the books, that's for sure. The book version of Sookie enjoyed living and did not even think of the option of becoming a vampire. Oh no! Hey Alan Ball- maybe you picked up the wrong book when you wrote the last two episodes. That book is called Twilight. I hope Sookie opposes to be converted or opposes to the thought because she'll end up like Bella from Twilight. HAHA. Bella got pretty annoying when she kept begging Edward to turn her. Oh hell no! Not my Sookie. She's a strong character and she doesn't play games. Sookie is definately a G! Did you see how she stood up to Lorena, Bill's maker?! Now Sook is definately not a Bella type. Oh HELL NO!

In sum- great episode! Can't wait for tomorrow! Alexander Skarsgard is a GOD. Now I wish I had an Alexander and Aimee bond. It seems like everyone's getting a bite out of him. First Lady Gaga in the Paparazzi music video and then Anna Paquin. When will I get my turn!?!

A Vampire's Meal!

Yesterday was a pretty long day at work. So on my way home (I go through Bayridge in Brooklyn), I did dinner and a book at one of my favorite Japanese restaurants, Omiya. I wanted to try something new instead of the usual (Spicy Tuna & Ginza Roll) so while browsing the menu- I got super excited when I saw that they were offering a dish called "Vampire Bowl". Could this be any more perfect since I'm reading Christopher Moore's funny vampire novel called Bloodsucking Fiends?! What a great way to tie my vampire theme together! Anyway- the Vampire Bowl is basically Spicy Tuna Tar Tar (MY FAVE!!) rolled in a ball and stuffed in an avocado bowl on a bed of salad with house special sauce. Their Spicy Tuna Tar Tar is amazingly different because it's mixed with crunchies and it totally adds a whole new texture. The house special sauce drizzled on the plate is creamy yet sweet. You can't go wrong with this meal for $9.95!
